In today’s geographically dispersed and mobile world, executives and other key decision-makers increasingly use mobile devices to conduct business. They are spending more and more time away from their desks and use mobile devices to make key decisions on the go.
According to a survey on HOW DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION DRIVES DECISION-MAKING DATA ON MOBILE, conducted by dimensional research in 2019, 96 % of data-driven decision-makers consistently report that if all stakeholders could access the same, up-to-date data on their phones it would help with decision making.
Sharing consistent, real-time data on a smartphone is not merely a nice-to-have; it would have a real impact on business outcomes.
Furthermore, they stated that they face barriers to working with their smartphone. Current limitations prevent them of optimal use of their smartphones for decision making. 56 % of those 500 polled indicated that the number 1 reason what prevents them from doing more of their work on their smartphone is that they receive reports that are not conducive to viewing on a mobile screen.
To help decision-makers to keep an eye on their numbers on the go and to make current reports out of QlikView® and Qlik Sense® available not only on the desktop but also on mobile phones, Mail & Deploy has the following feature:
File Collection
In general, the “Add File To File Collection”-Action can be used to add a report document or an external file to a file collection. If you choose to add an external file, you can enter an expression that evaluates to the full path of the external file to add to the file collection.
In addition to that, the File Collection-feature is especially helpful if you need to send your reports via email and make them available on mobile. While other reporting automation tools for Qlik® automatically create ZIP files from the reports that will be sent by email, Mail & Deploy does it differently.
With Mail & Deploy, you have the option to create a file of several reports zipped or unzipped and include it in one email. In other words, you can send several reports to your report-recipients in one email, either separately OR in a Zip file.
This drastically increases the opening rate of reports on mobile and lowers the barrier for managers, executives and leads to make decisions on the go. Decision-makers can have a quick look at the insights in their external email client instead of having to save and unzip the file.
Furthermore, it saves them clicks and will not fill up their mobile hard drive with downloads that they have to clean later on.
