Known Issue with Excel Report Formulas is resolved

We have identified a bug in our latest release affecting Excel Report templates in Mail & Deploy - and a fix is already available.

Software Release

At Mail & Deploy, transparency and reliability are very important to us. We therefore want to inform our customers and partners about a known issue in Release 3.6.2 affecting Excel report templates, explain the impact, and outline the available resolution.

What’s Happening

In Mail & Deploy 3.6.2, Excel formulas inside Excel Report templates may be unintentionally overwritten with static values during the report rendering process.

For example, a formula such as =IFNA(INDEX(...), "-")may be replaced with a literal value such as “CORO” instead of being preserved as a formula and evaluated dynamically by Excel when the report is opened.

This behavior can affect important calculations and lead to unexpected results in generated reports.

The issue impacts:

  • Excel previews generated in Mail & Deploy
  • Full Excel report outputs
  • Newly created templates as well as templates that previously worked correctly
  • All configurations, regardless of Excel calculation mode or template settings

Because formulas are replaced during rendering, users may notice that calculations are no longer performed within Excel, but instead appear as fixed values in the generated report.

Resolution

The issue has been fully resolved in our latest release – Mail & Deploy 3.6.4. Customers experiencing this behavior are encouraged to upgrade to the latest version to ensure formulas are preserved and evaluated correctly.

However, please note that version 3.6.4 includes a breaking change related to Word report behavior. We therefore recommend reviewing the release notes before upgrading to understand the impact and verify your report templates if necessary.
