Your Qlik®-reports are the compass for your business. They are filled with all relevant data and analyzes and tell you what has worked and what has not in the past. So you can optimize your plans for the future. To get a clear picture of a certain aspect of your business development and growth, one report might not suffice. That’s where Mail & Deploy comes in.
With Mail & Deploy, you can create unlimited numbers of reports in one single place and distribute them to stakeholders in- and outside your company quickly, easily and reliably. You might set up one report for your Nordics sales team’s performance, your small business services team’s service level agreement, or your marketing team’s most important KPIs.
Sometimes your reports differ greatly depending on which report recipients and decision-makers are addressed. In other cases, you might want to create several reports with small variations. For example, you might create individual sales reports for each of the representatives in your team.
Creating slight variations of reports is easy with cycle actions and creating a brand new report piece by piece is easier and quicker in Mail & Deploy as well. In today’s #featurefriday, we cover the following feature to save you even more time:
Cloning
In Mail & Deploy, you can duplicate an entire report, task or action with one click. Then just modify it and you are ready to go. Just like that.
Cloning it is the most efficient way to create new reports, tasks or actions. In fact, we recommend that you do not create your reports or tasks from scratch, but always use existing templates and set of actions or improve your best reports by simple cloning them.
Cloning a report
This enables you to quickly create a new report that is pre-populated with the results and visualization from the original report.
Here is how it works:
- You can access reports by clicking “Reports” in the left menu of the Mail & Deploy Client.
- Select the report, you want to use as a starting point.
- Click this button
to create a copy of the currently selected report. - Provide the cloned report a new name.
- And start editing or modifying your cloned report.
Cloning a task or action
All preparation actions and tasks support to select an action and copy it to the clipboard using STRG + C.
The copied action can then be pasted into an empty action list by clicking the empty action list with the left mouse button to focus is and pressing STRG + V, or by selecting an action in an action list and pressing STRG + V to insert the copied action after the selected one.
