Features

Everything reporting takes — from source to recipient.

From connecting a source to confirming delivery.

The features are grouped into seven areas: connect your data, design report templates, build reports and bursting rules, deliver them to every channel, share results in the Hub, operate and monitor the platform and secure access and data.

What are you trying to do?

Connect

Get connected to your data

Install next to your BI platform or use SaaS. Multiple environments can be connected at once and combined in one report.

Each additional data source is licensed separately.

Streamlined setup

Mail & Deploy runs as a single service that fits into your existing setup. Install it on the same machine as your current solution and move reports from development to production in a few clicks. A standard installation takes less than 15 minutes.

  • Installed in less than 15 minutes
View details on Streamlined setup

Flexible deployment

Deploy on-premise, in a private cloud, or use the SaaS edition. The same configuration runs in every model.

  • On-premise, private cloud or SaaS
View details on Flexible deployment

Multiple data sources

Combine elements from Qlik®, Power BI or other data sources like SQL, Snowflake, Oracle and more in a single report.

  • No data duplication
View details on Multiple data sources

Centralised control

The Management Console holds users, workspaces, data sources and permissions in one place, which keeps reporting manageable as it grows.

  • Users, workspaces, data sources and permissions in one console
View details on Centralised control
Design

Design engaging reports

Reports are built in Excel, Word, PowerPoint or HTML. Whatever is in the template survives delivery.

Drag & drop creation

The designer creates and adjusts report elements by drag & drop. Elements keep their data binding while you move or resize them.

  • Position and resize elements without re-selecting the data object
View details on Drag & drop creation

Multiple templates by report

A report supports more than one underlying template, so similar but slightly different reports - multiple languages, for example - come from one definition.

  • Several templates per report, e.g. one per language
View details on Multiple templates by report

Enhanced HTML editor

The HTML template editor formats HTML reports down to the markup. HTML reports can also be inserted directly into an e-mail body.

  • HTML reports can be placed directly in the e-mail body

Build

Create the exact report you have in mind

Pick a field - region, cost centre, account manager. One execution produces one report per value, each filtered and matched to its recipient.

Data source browser

The data source browser lists the objects of the connected data source. Find an object and add it to your report with a double-click.

  • Add a data object with a double-click

Deliver

Deliver reports individually

Schedule it, or chain it with other tasks.

Report scheduling

Execution plans define the time frame, the frequency - daily, weekly, monthly - and the time of day a report is delivered.

  • Daily, weekly or monthly, at a fixed time of day
View details on Report scheduling

Report automations

Chain actions - reload the app, generate the report, deliver it, notify on failure - into one automation. Run it on a schedule, on request, or from another system via the API.

  • Triggered by schedule, by request or via the API
View details on Report automations

Failure notifications

Send e-mail notifications to selected users or groups when an execution fails, so the responsible team knows what happened without watching the console. Notifications are sent per workspace.

  • E-mail on failed executions, per workspace

Management report distribution

Schedule, generate and deliver reports per recipient through email, file server, FTP, Microsoft SharePoint and Teams, OneDrive, Dropbox, AWS S3, Google Drive, or the Mail & Deploy Hub.

  • E-mail, file server, FTP, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Dropbox, S3, Google Drive, Hub

Share

Share insights and increase the audience

Recipients subscribe, filter and download themselves. IT keeps the templates and permissions.

Self-service hub

Users explore, view, download and subscribe to reports online through one secure, central portal - less busywork for IT.

  • One portal for every report
View details on Self-service hub

On-demand reporting

The Self-Service Extensions give decision-makers access to Qlik Sense® data, so they select the values they need and request the report themselves.

  • Recipients set the parameters before the report is generated
View details on On-demand reporting

Output formats

Deliver as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDF, HTML, CSV and XML. Office formats stay editable; PDFs stay pixel-accurate.

  • Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDF, HTML, CSV, XML

High-resolution reports

Deliver complex, printable reports from Qlik®, Power BI and more, with control over the rendering resolution of every visual.

  • Rendering resolution is set per image element

Operate

Optimise and plan reporting resources

Every execution is logged: what ran, what it produced, where it went, what failed.

Usage monitoring

The execution status lists running executions; the Monitoring App shows executions, requests and reports, each with its log file.

  • Executions, requests and reports with log files
View details on Usage monitoring

Parallel report execution

The engine is multi-threaded and processes a large number of reports in parallel. A task parameter is split across the configured number of jobs.

  • Multi-threaded engine, tasks execute simultaneously
View details on Parallel report execution

Reload and reduce automation

Reload and reduce documents and applications automatically before reports are created and distributed.

  • Reload and reduce run before the report is generated
View details on Reload and reduce automation
Secure

State-of-the-art security and scalability

Access follows the identity that requests the report. Nothing is duplicated outside your systems.

Flexible authentication options

Mail & Deploy supports Windows authentication, custom credentials, Azure AD, OpenID and access keys, so each service uses the method that fits its usage.

  • Windows, custom credentials, Azure AD, OpenID, access keys

API first

Tasks can be started over the API with access key authentication.

User-based security

Control who can access, generate and view reports through Mail & Deploy's own user permissions. Mail & Deploy also respects Qlik's section access.
